September 2019 Essays

The following are a series of essays, all somewhat interrelated, that express how I was feeling in the month after my summer of self-realization. These essays are by no means meant to be taken as my final word on these issues. I will continue to discuss these topics as I learn more about the world and the current state of humanity. The essays are undated, however, they are published below in the order in which I wrote them.

As always, I hope that you engage with me in the comments so that I can learn how to express myself in a way that is more appropriate and relatable to as many of you as possible.

Essay #1

How Does one Disconnect from the World?

Our world is both an illusion and a reality. What you see around you was supposed to happen, but within that order there is chaos. In order for you to find more order in your life, at some point you must make a conscious effort to change. A flip of the coin to land on heads. There is no way out of this coin flip. You can hide, but that does not change the fact that it will happen.

You have two choices: acceptance, dare I say, radical acceptance, or denial. One choice is clearly more fruitful than the other. My song takes you on that journey. The more you hear it, the more you will disconnect from the illusion, and begin to understand reality. Our reality can then become whatever we want it to be. I’m flipping the coin. I dare you to stop me.

Essay #2

This may become one of my most controversial essays and I want everyone to know that I do not take this subject matter lightly. Any discussion of race or skin color inevitably brings about strong opinions. First and foremost, my motivation is not by any means to indicate that one race is superior to another. In the interest of fairness, I only mean to say this… that natural selection and evolution have controlled for a population that is… fair.

The pun on that word is important. Fairness means truth. The truth of the world we are in is that the powers that be, want us to become a planet in which the fairest race reigns supreme. You may reach this goal through education and your own pursuit of truth, or you may take my words at face value and find a mate that mirrors your skin tone. The former is more of a focus on yourself. The latter is an investment in the future of our planet. While the choice is ultimately yours, there is no doubt in my mind that we reached where we are today due to the pursuit of greener pastures, and the truth that those pastures can ultimately bring to our lives.

Essay #3

On Belief…

Belief. It’s a powerful thing. Some believe in a higher order to our world. They understand that in our common pursuit of the greater good, there are actants that push and pull against the very forces that govern our reality. They see that which is not easily seen. The five senses can only experience a minute, infinitesimal piece of our reality. Our minds, however, are far more powerful than all our senses combined.

Our senses are only inputs for the CPU that is our brains. However we all share the same senses, so how is it that some humans believe differently than others? I would narrow it down to the idea of truth. More specifically, objective truth versus subjective truth. What’s the difference you may ask? There’s the simple answer and then the more complicated one.

The simple answer is this: I am writing in a blue pen. This is an objective truth, provable by the simple fact that the pen in my hand is blue. However, subjectively speaking, not everyone sees color the same way, and if you are reading this essay in its typed format, then the blue pen loses its objective value.

However, what happens when we get into more difficult topics like theology? Am I uniquely equipped to prove theories that have only till now been just that… theories? This is where belief comes back into the picture. If enough people believe me, does that not then make it an objective truth?

Essay #4

On Change…

About four years ago, I first started exploring the idea of being the one to change the world. I was met with criticism and backlash because many people said to me, “Some people don’t want the world to change.”

Now four years later, as we see the climate “changing” around us, the desire to change the world for the better has become part of an international conversation on the agency of human beings. Now, more than ever, people want real lasting change, if only to make our planet habitable for future generations.

In recent months, the world has been fraught with not only political turmoil in key regions which were once deemed relatively peaceful but with social turmoil, as young heroes have emerged to bring attention to the problems brought on by the economic corruption of recent decades.

I have often wondered why I did not know who I was sooner, and for that matter, why people expected me to come sooner. My only answer is that the passage of time has been altogether necessary for the world to realize how bad things can get, and I had to learn for myself how to communicate, act, and become the hero you need me to be.

As a scholar and as an academic, I will forever and always be Avnish Mehra. But as your beacon of hope… as the man who will be the real-life superhero that this planet needs, I promise you that I will do everything in my power as the tenth and final avatar of Lord Vishnu… Lord Kalki.

I cannot do what I have to do in the world alone, so I hope that as I lead you all into a world of truth, justice, and understanding, you contribute to the betterment of humanity in your own ways.

Although I am Kalki the human, I must create a persona out of the resources that are available to me. There is a high likelihood that some people may not like the way I have commodified Kalki, but I assure you, I am making all my choices for the greater good of humanity.

As I finish the last of my September 2019 essays, I only wish to say that I do not take my life for granted. I am blessed to have great friends and family who have helped me to become who I am.

May God bless you all, and may God bless the future of humanity.
